The NBA announces its new strategy for the 2020 Draft Combine

The NBA has advanced part of the plan with which they will launch the Draft Combine 2020. This event usually allows young people who are going to introduce themselves to the draft show up to franchise scouts, passing a series of tests on a campus where they coexist with each other. This year, because of the pandemic, the strategy changes.

The North American League has assessed the situation and has proposed the following. As of September 28 and until mid-November, players who wish to do so will enter the Draft Combine 2020 process. Until October 16, preliminary interviews of the teams with the players may be carried out, in person or by videoconference.

The most important novelty comes in the physical tests, already from mid-October: HomeCourt will be used, a mobile application that uses programmed vision and intelligence to test the field of basket shots, which is integrated into the ‘Pro Day’ experience in which the player in question can take a personal trainer to a facility and record a session with him of about 45 minutes (approx.) for it to be analyzed.

Players must be treated by medical staff of the area in which they are.

These are the measures taken by the League for the selection of the Draft 2020, which should take place (if there are no further delays due to the pandemic) on November 18.
