Super Bowl LV Predictions: Will the Chiefs Repeat?

Judy Battista: Heads Over Saints. No wonder two teams with great continuity are racing this season. It’s also not surprising that the Chiefs become the first consecutive champion since the Patriots in 2004 – and the similarities perhaps don’t end here.

Jeremy Bergman: Heads over Cowboys. The Cowboys return to Super Bowl Sunday in their first year of the Mike McCarthy era and for the first time in a quarter of a century. But once there, the American team meets the next dynasty of American football and falls to its Dallas predecessors, led by Patrick Mahomes and Super Bowl MVP Clyde Edwards-Helaire, by three scores.

Gil Brandt: Chiefs over the Vikings. Andy Reid, an offensive spirit, takes on Mike Zimmer, a defensive spirit. The Vikings win the possession time but bet the underside with the Chiefs taking a low scoring game.

Nate Burleson: The Chiefs on the Buccaneers. The Bucs become the first team in history to host the Super Bowl, but that’s where Tom Brady’s story ends this time around. It’s Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes returning home with new material.

Gennaro Filice: chefs over cowboys. The ‘Boys hit the Super Bowl on Sunday for the first time since Windows 95 was cutting edge, but Dallas has no answer for the modern world’s most prolific operating system, heads Andy Reid / Patrick Mahomes.

Marcas Grant: Heads over Saints. It’s a quarterback duel in fantasy football heaven. Mahomes leads Kansas City to the rare double, sadly sending Drew Brees into the sunset.

DeAngelo Hall: the chefs on the buccaneers. Tom Brady gives Patrick Mahomes a run for his money late in the game, but it’s ultimately the young gunslinger who outshines the veteran with a winning touchdown. Mahomes gets his second ring. Four more to match the GOAT

Maurice Jones-Drew: The Chiefs on the Buccaneers. The Chiefs are riding their Patrick Mahomes-led attack to back-to-back titles, but it’s rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire who scores the winning touchdown.

Steve Mariucci: the leaders rather than the saints. Patrick Mahomes surpasses Drew Brees and SMASHES all Kurt Warner Super Bowl records! (Sorry, Kurt.)

Kevin Patra: Heads over Saints. The two deepest teams with little turnover in a COVID-influenced season end up in the Super Bowl. The Saints finally get over the NFC bump to find more heartache as Patrick Mahomes leads a late fourth-quarter practice to sweep Drew Brees’ second Lombardi.

Scott Pioli: Heads Over Saints. The Saints will be in a one-season battle to win the division, but their team continuity will carry them into 2020. They will be strong in January, but unable to beat the top soccer team in February.

Adam Rank: Chiefs over the Buccaneers. I don’t have the chiefs taking the AFC West, which should be a surprise. Not because the Chiefs will stumble, but the AFC West talent is so good. Still, they end up making the playoffs and capturing back-to-back titles. And now Andy Reid is about to enter the conversation of the best coach in NFL history.

Adam Schein: Heads Over Cowboys. This is Patty Mahomes’ world and we live in it. It’s Chefs time in Schein once again this year. Mahomes and Reid will not be turned down.

Peter Schrager: The Chiefs on the Buccaneers. In Super Bowl LV, it’s Patrick Mahomes (the best of his generation) on Tom Brady (the best of his generation). In Tampa Bay, nothing less.

Nick Shook: Chiefs rather than Saints. New Orleans is finally realizing its potential for the first time since XLIV, but cannot surpass Patrick Mahomes in his second straight heroic performance on the game’s biggest stage.

Kurt Warner: Heads of over 49ers. I still think these are the two most comprehensive lists in football. This time around, however, it’s a best-scoring affair, with Patrick Mahomes leading the Chiefs on a late touchdown for the win in a close game.
