Jadeveon Clowney remains a free agent but maybe not for much longer.

At least three teams are interested in signing the defensive wing and, via multiple reports, the Saints are one of those teams and perhaps the leader as the season opener approaches.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that “The Saints are sending out a full blitz to try to sign Jadeveon Clowney, who has spoken to coach Sean Payton on several occasions.

The Titans and Seahawks also remain interested.

Coach Pete Carroll was asked Thursday if the Seahawks were leaving the door open for a Clowney comeback and said, “Still in competition. Always in competition. “

The triple Pro Bowler has 32 sacks in six seasons since the Texans made him the number one pick. He had 31 tackles, three sacks and one interception for the Seahawks last season as he played through a core muscle injury that required surgery during the offseason.

Seattle was traded for Clowney on September 1, 2019.
