Venus Williams is a tennis legend playing at the age of thirty. She played at the US Open for the first time twenty years ago, when she ran into Martina Hingis in the finale. The American Grand Slam dominated in two cases at the turn of the millennium (2000, 2001). She hasn’t reached the finle since. For the past decade, she went to the semifinals twice (2010 against the Belgian Clijsters returning this year and 2017, when she fell in those sets against the Stephens compatriot and there were three Americans in the semifinals). As for the match with the Czech tennis players in Flushing Meadows, Williamsov helped Petra Kvitová in the quarterfinals three years ago in the quarterfinals, in 2016 Karolna Plkov, later a finalist, threw her out for a change in the eightfinals ….
