2. A message for the fans
Before the Browns went through their mock game, Stefanski grabbed a microphone and spoke to the few hundred friends and family who were watching from the stands in socially distant groups. He expressed how much the team missed the fans and promised that this year’s Browns was all about “work”.
“This team you will see here is not afraid of work and they have been from the moment we started in April,” said Stefanski. “They worked. And that’s what I appreciate about this group. We have a saying here: ‘We’re not bark, we all bite.’ And I think you’ll see from this group that at the end of the day it’s all about work. We are very excited to get started on September 13th and thank you again for being here. “
3. Waiting for Harrison
S Ronnie Harrison, who was acquired in a deal with the Jaguars on Thursday, was out of practice on Friday. Harrison must clear required test logs before entering the team facility and participating in activities with his new teammates.
Stefanski said it was too early to say whether Harrison, who played 22 games for Jacksonville over the past two seasons, was ready enough to make an impact in Week 1 in Baltimore.
“We really need to get our hands on him and see what he can learn and bring up to speed quickly,” said Stefanski. “Anytime you have a security that can be downplayed and in the mail, of course that matters to what you’re trying to run. We’ll find that out in the next few days, but there’s a common thread that’s schematically from Jacksonville out running to us with this Seattle Cover 3 defense. “
