Former Newcastle Knights center-back Jarrod Mullen has been asked to return to the rugby league after a four-year suspension of the sport.
The 33-year-old had his contract ripped off after testing positive for an anabolic steroid in 2017.

His ban expires in January 2021 and can play in the NRL if he completes community service for a crime related to the supply of cocaine.
It comes on the day that Sharks Young Gun Bronson Xerris B sample tested positive for a steroid.
When asked if 19-year-old Xerri could still make a comeback in the NRL, The daily telegraph Paul Kent revealed that there was evidence that the embarrassed young shark was able to return to the sport professionally.
“He can come back, he’ll be 25 when he comes back,” Kent said in the Fox League NRL360.
“I think he’s looking at four years. But 25 isn’t too old to come back.
“We saw Sandor Earl come back after four years, and just today (Phil) writes ‘Buzz’ Rothfield in tomorrow’s paper that Jarrod Mullen will apply to the NRL for reinstatement.

“His term runs in January and he can play from January as long as he does his 300 hours of community service.
“It can happen for Bronson Xerri, but there is a great chance we can get off those charges.”
Mullen, who bought 39 grams of cocaine when convicted in February this year.
His attorney Paul McGirr said the former NSW Origin player regretted his mistake and wanted to remedy the situation.
“Jarrod is remorseful for what happened and he wants to get on with his life and hopefully use that experience to raise other young children,” he said.
“He was, and still is, a legend of the game.
“He made a mistake and raised his hand for it.”
