NFL: spectators from October in Atlanta

The Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United will be able to host fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium starting October 11.

The NFL team and Major League Soccer (MLS) roster made the announcement on Tuesday.

The state of Georgia has granted them this privilege, as there is currently a decline in COVID-19 cases in this region. However, the stadium will not be able to be filled to its full capacity, which is 71,000 spectators. The number allowed has not been released at this time.

The two training courses will continue their collaboration with local and national public health officials. They also reserve the right to ban the presence of supporters there again, should the pandemic situation worsen.

Next Sunday, the Falcons will host 500 friends, family and associates to test the operation and protocols. They will face the Chicago Bears in their third game of the 2020 season.

Starting October 11, Atlanta United will play two games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For their part, the Falcons must play six games there.
