The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced 13 roster changes Thursday night to reduce the roster to 67 players. The Eagles are yet to go down to 53 players before the 4:00 p.m. EST deadline on Saturday, September 5.

INJURY DESIGNATIONS

Thoughts

  • Dillard going to IR now (as opposed to after the cutoff deadline) confirms he will not be playing during the 2020 season. Cannot be activated now.
  • Burnett deserved to be part of the team. It’s a shame he left. Could see him get claimed on waivers.
  • Arnold deserved to be part of the team as well. He made a few plays in camp and the Eagles will be keeping five safeties with injured Will Parks.
  • Little surprised to see Holyfield gone. I had him on my 53, although I wasn’t sure the Eagles were going to keep four fullbacks. The fact that the Eagles only keep three bodes well for the status of Miles Sanders, who missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury.
  • I wouldn’t fear Killins would be called for; it will probably happen to the practice team.
  • Burnett, Arnold, Holyfield, Killins, Riley and Juriga are the practice squad’s best bets here. Fulgham and / or Green might get some attention.
  • Swoopes, Bailey, and Good-Jones were essentially camp corps.
  • The Eagles can place Brandon Brooks and Alshon Jeffery in reserve / physically unable to perform to drop to 65 players. They would only need 13 more moves from that point on.
