BEach volleyball Olympic champion Laura Ludwig and Margareta Kozuch also missed their first joint title at the German championships in Timmendorfer Strand in the second attempt. In the final, the duo from Hamburger SV Sandra Ittlinger and Chantal Laboreur (Berlin / Stuttgart) lost 1: 2 (21:19, 16:21, 9:15). Ludwig / Kozuch had to be satisfied with second place last year.
After Ludwig emerged as the winner of the duel with her gold partner from Rio, Kira Walkenhorst, and her partner Anna-Lena Grüne (2-1) in the quarter-finals on Friday, Ludwig / Kozuch also beat Kim Behrens / Cinja in the semifinals on Saturday morning Tillmann (Flacht / Hildesheim) almost 2: 1 (21:17, 15:21, 15:13).
