Heerenveen strictly number 10 of Bayern: ‘technically skilled player’

SC Heerenveen has Oliver Batista Meier in. The Frisians take over the nineteen-year-old attacking midfielder on a rental basis from Bayern Munich.

The German youth international will immediately join the selection of trainer Johnny Jansen and will play in the Abe Lenstra Stadium with shirt number ten. “Oliver is a versatile, technically skilled player with scoring ability that makes our squad stronger,” said technical manager Gerry Hamstra. “He is number ten, but he is also good on the sides. We are happy that a large club like Bayern Munich wants to bring a talent like Oliver to us, so that he can develop further with us.”

Heerenveen was in need of attacking impulses after Chidera Ejuke’s departure to CSKA Moscow. Batista Meier made the switch from FC Kaiserslautern to Bayern four years ago as a youth player. Last season he made his debut in the main squad of The record champion. During the won competition match with Fortuna Düsseldorf (5-0), he replaced Serge Gnabry in the second half.
