Football, climbing, dancing … multisport licenses at 20 euros in working-class neighborhoods

Is your child still hesitating between several activities? Multisport clubs may be for him. Everywhere in France, the so-called affinity federations (the more classic federations, which are attached to an international federation are called delegatees) like the FSGT (Federation sportive et gymnique du travail) make it possible to touch everything.

At attractive prices, since the FSGT, created in 1934 as part of the Popular Front, offers a license at 20 euros for children, 27 euros for teenagers and 35 euros for adults. “We are aimed at everyone, from early childhood to adults, whether they want to compete or practice only for leisure,” says Clément Rémond, head of the FSGT in Seine-Saint-Denis.

In 9-3, the future Olympic department, there are 180 clubs, located in almost every city. The largest structures – particularly in Drancy, Bagnolet, Montreuil, Saint-Denis and Tremblay – offer between 25 and 30 activities per year. Athletics, judo, handball, dance, climbing, e-sport…, the range is extremely wide. “Not all our structures offer all the activities, but we try to promote a global approach to sport,” continues Clément Rémond. Throughout the year, our members have the opportunity to practice several sports. For example, it is possible for them to participate in an athletics competition one weekend and the following Saturday in a climbing rally. »In competitions, participation is taken into account as much as performance.

Highlight the social values of sport

The FSGT also welcomes people with disabilities, with opportunities for shared practice in order to promote inclusion. The change of perspective on disability is a strong development axis of the FSGT which also insists on the social values of sport. Self-refereed 7-a-side football matches are thus organized. “Tackling is prohibited, offside prohibited. The game is under the co-responsibility of the players who guarantee the smooth running of the game. “

A women’s five-a-side football championship will also be launched at Parc Marville, in La Courneuve. “Our ambition is to develop projects in the region,” says Clément Rémond. This summer, our team of animators allowed children who did not go on vacation to practice a physical activity, in sedentary sites such as the parks of the department, but also thanks to the sports caravan, organized jointly with the Ufolep, and which for a month settled at the foot of the towers of popular districts. Our ambition is to offer this type of activity, which is not necessarily aimed at our members, during the holidays, so that sport is really a social link. “
