Ferran Corominas signs for Atlético Balears

Ferran Corominas has rope for a while. The 37-year-old striker from Banyoles will play in Segona B this season with Atlético Baleares after closing a brilliant stage with Goa de India, where he has become the all-time leading scorer in the championship (50 goals in 57 parties). Corominas returns to Spanish football after leaving Mallorca in 2016 to sign for the Doxa Katokopias in the Cyprus league. He then made his way to India where he has become a legend. Now, Atlético Baleares gives him the opportunity to continue playing at a demanding level and with the promotion to Second A as a goal.

Trained at Banyoles and Vilobí, Corominas excelled with Espanyol in the 2000s. Banyoles was in the first white-and-blue first team for seven and a half seasons (2003-10) and then went through the ‘Osasuna (11), Girona (11-12), Elche (12-15) and Mallorca (15-16). Corominas has played 241 games in the First Division, 98 in the Second Division and has won the 2006 Copa del Rey with Espanyol. The Girona native also achieved promotion to Elche in the First Division in 2012, just one year after being key to the salvation of Girona in the Second Division.
