Wednesday at Winged Foot. Last training before the battle starts at 12:21 (18:21 in Spain). I continue to familiarize myself little by little with everything, but it never ceases to amaze me to go to breakfast and meet Rory instead of with a friend.

Tee Times: pampering Tiger and great games for Jon and Sergio at the US Open

I tell you how the day went. We had a good training session and I played the second nine (10-18) which are perhaps a bit more complicated. I have hit several good shots, but here you need them to be almost perfect to get the ball in place.

Diary of an amateur at the US Open: Here are all bulls

If you miss the street you pay a toll, you have no choice. If you are lucky and it doesn’t look too bad you can advance 150 meters (as very well), but since it stays like most, you don’t advance more than 70 meters; it is impossible.

The greens in the second round are quite bumpy, with very large false fronts and also many bunkers with very high slopes. This data is important because it seems that they can be good sites -with more options than from the rough-, but the reality is that recovery is very difficult.

The ‘X’ that everyone has cleared at the US Open

I have had the opportunity to chat with Rafa (Cabrera Bello), who has seemed to me an exceptional person, very close. We had talked to play the training round, but it had not squared us. Rafa has told me how he sees the field and where I can subtract a blow this week. The truth is that I am very grateful for all this help.

The figures of all the ‘massacres’ that took place in Winged Foot

It was also a day where I took the opportunity to get to know the trucks and all the facilities that these players have week after week. I was surprised by how well cared for they are. They do not lack anything: machines, physios and people at their disposal.

I hope that tomorrow I can tell you interesting things.

(* Eduard Rousaud has earned his place in the US Open of Winged Foot through the Amateur World Rankings (fifth position on August 19). He will be the 66th Spaniard to make his debut in a Grand Slam tournament. The Barcelonian will share the two first days with American Adam Long and French Michael Lorenzo-Vera).
