Bartlesville Radio »News» Nowata heads to Chelsea in search of his first win

Nowata football is ready for match no. 2 non-district Friday at Chelsea. Coach Graham Snelding says the team is exactly where it should be. Nowata was beaten by the Oklahoma Union 34-6 last week. Quarterback Broden Monroe made his debut and completed 17 of 30 passes with a 72-yard touchdown. Snelding was happy with the performance but knows that improvements can be made in attack.

The Ironmen are spending the week of training correcting some of those mistakes that come early in the season. Nowata looks forward to a Green Dragons team that has beaten in each of the last two seasons. Former Nowata manager Matt Hagebusch heads a Chelsea team that won their first game against Porter last week. Snelding expects to see a competitive match.

Chelsea Public Schools have announced that social distancing and protective masks are highly recommended for all in attendance. Kick-off from Chelsea is set for 7pm on Friday.
