Badminton offspring from TV Refrath won many medals in Bonn

At the nationwide badminton competition in Bonn, six young members of the TV Refrath made it onto the podium. The girls in particular were successful.

It is well known that many of the best U13 players in Germany are currently training on TV Refrath. You have got used to the fact that two or three talents are regularly on the podium in German rankings. At the weekend in Bonn-Beuel, six TVR players stood on the podium.

With a total of 6 boys and 7 girls, the team led by Refrath coaches Daniel Winkelmann and Heinz Kelzenberg traveled to the former federal capital in order to finally not play for ranking points at the highest level after the long corona-related break.

The team and its successes

Pia Rappen, Nele Röhrig, Timon Polle, Jona Große, Luis Ebert, Nils Barion and the only 9-year-old Tristan Theobald gave their best without being able to play for the medals.

However, this was the first time Fanny Gieseke and Kalliope Hermel succeeded in winning bronze in the girls’ doubles after a great performance. In this discipline, three other Refrath girls were even represented in the final, which Gloria Poluektov and Nina Steffes were able to win against Maike Iffland and her Bavarian partner Safonova.

Nina Steffes also won silver in mixed with Konstantin Kaprov from Trier. In addition to winning the tournament in doubles, Gloria Poluektov also took first place in singles and third place in mixed alongside her club colleague Fynn Ohliger.

This made her the outstanding and most successful participant of this weekend. Fynn Ohliger was also third in the doubles and fifth in the singles and thus also made TV Refrath a great success for the boys.

The next and last German ranking list will take place from October 9-11. in Refrath.
