Fulham are targeting Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on loan all season
Fulham are in talks to sign former Real Madrid goalkeeper Alphonse Areola from Paris Saint-Germain on loan for the season.
Areola spent last season on loan at Real Madrid as part of the deal that brought Keylor Navas to Parc des Princes but has now returned to the French club.
Last month a statement on the Madrid website said: “The club would like to thank Areola for his dedication, professionalism and exemplary conduct this season and wish him luck in this new chapter.
“Real Madrid also thanks PSG for the possibility of having Alphonse Areola as part of our squad.”
Areola made nine appearances for Madrid last season with former Chelsea player Thibaut Courtois, who is primarily used as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Fulham made two end-of-season acquisitions after returning to the Premier League, with Mario Lemina joining on loan for a season and Harrison Reed signing on permanently after spending last season on loan at Craven Cottage.

Lemina, who joined Southampton for £ 15.4m from Juventus in August 2017, spent last season on loan with Turkish side Galatasaray.
Fulham have an option to make Lemina’s loan permanent if she impresses at Craven Cottage.

The summer transfer period will last 10 weeks from July 27th and will close at 11pm on October 5th.
A domestic-only window for exchanges between the Premier League and the EFL therefore runs from 5 October and closes on Friday 16 October at 5pm.
