After 16 years, Defour arrives again in KVM physical testing training | Jupiler Pro League

More than 16 years after he left for Racing Genk as a youth player, Steven Defour has again appeared at the club in an official KV Mechelen outfit. Defour did not train today as previously communicated. He underwent physical testing to see what his body can handle.

Steven Defour has been without a club since 1 July after his contract with Antwerp was not extended. He came to KVM with the request to maintain his fitness at the club.

Today, Defour registered for the first time in the outfit of KV Mechelen, but contrary to originally planned, it did not immediately go to the practice fields.

Today Defour is undergoing physical tests to estimate which exercises he can and cannot participate in with the rest of the group. The club and player want to keep the risk of injuries as small as possible. Normally he can train from tomorrow.

The club emphasized on Monday that there were no contract negotiations at that time. Steven Defour himself did not want to answer any questions about his current situation for the time being.
