With McLachlan’s announcement, which caused a lot of excitement in the state, there was certainly a punter who wasn’t as delighted as the AFL boss on Wednesday afternoon.
An avid golfer who played on the course behind the Mercure Hotel was not impressed by a shot after landing in the water. The player searched fiercely for the ball.

For a minute, the golfer was seen looking up and down the water’s edge and unable to find his ball while his partners waited by their golf cart.
The hilarious moment caused a lot of chatter on social media during the big announcement.
