Two New Foreign Players At Persija Jakarta Project From PSSI

Farias ensured Persija did not change the composition of foreign players in the League 1 continued this season.

Persija Jakarta has the arrival of two new foreign players, Thiago Apolina Pereira and Maike Henrique Irine De Lima, ahead of the return of Liga 1 this season. However, Kemayoran Tigers coach Sergio Farias, said their presence was not at his request.

The arrival of the two Brazilian midfielders has sparked speculation that foreign players are leaving. Given, Persija already has four imported legions, Marco Simic, Marc Klok, Marco Motta, and Rohit Chand.

Farias also stated that the four foreign players were still part of his team. There is no change at all because they are still under contract with Persija.

“No. This is not true. Because there are no vacancies for new foreign players. Because the quota is full [empat], “said Farias when contacted by the media.

The former NorthEast United formation spokesman explained that Thiago and Maike were at Persija because of the orders from PSSI. He admitted that he did not know the track record of their appearance.

“They [Thiago dan Maike] is a young player who will train for the project from PSSI. These players are in the same club as my son in Brazil. I don’t understand the style of play, but they previously played at Corinthians, “he said.

Apart from Persija, Arema FC and Madura United suddenly brought in young footballers from Brazil. Their presence strengthens the issue that PSSI will naturalize players.

The aim is to strengthen the Indonesian national team at the U-20 World Cup which will be held next year. PSSI took such an instant way so that Garuda Muda could play optimally.

It’s just that, the question is, is it true that the young Brazilian players brought in by the three clubs have a higher quality than that of Indonesian players? No one has been able to prove it.

Therefore, it is better for PSSI to take advantage of the abilities of Indonesian players for the U-20 World Cup. The national football federation does not need to cut corners with naturalization.

Moreover, the U-19 Indonesian national team, which is projected for the U-20 World Cup, has been holding a training camp in Jakarta since last July. The players have understood each other’s game characters and the pattern Shin Tae-yong wanted.
