Tottenham transfer rumors: Spurs discover Issa Diop’s price, Hugo Lloris is ready for a new contract

Tottenham Hotspur will face a tough challenge next season in Jose Mourinho’s first full season in charge, following a rather disappointing performance last season.

Involvement in the Europa League qualifying rounds and the restructuring of the Carabao Cup gave the Spurs an accumulation of matches as early as September, without a ball being kicked.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has already arrived from Southampton and there will likely be many more business at stake.

Here, we’ve rounded up some of the latest snippets surrounding Tottenham.

Issa Diop available

West Ham will allow Issa Diop to leave London’s stadium this summer if his £ 45m price tag is met by a potential suitor, Sky Sports says.

The highly regarded Frenchman was advertised for a transfer to join a number of clubs, with Foot Mercato saying in May that Spurs were interested and Diop was thrilled with a move.

23-year-old Diop has been one of the Hammers ‘standout performers since moving to the Premier League, despite the hardships David Moyes’ side have faced at times.

Spurs are known to be in the market for a new central defender this summer following the departure of Jan Vertonghen, with Inter Milan Skriniar among the linked names.

Contract by Hugo Lloris

Mourinho is ready to hand goalkeeper Hugo Lloris a new contract in North London, ESPN reports.

The French World Cup winner, and Spurs captain, will face a new competition next season with Joe Hart coming on a free transfer, although he will likely be Michel Vorm’s replacement in the reserve role.

Lloris’ current deal expires in 2022, but Mourinho is keen to extend his tenure even longer, with the 33-year-old’s form improving markedly since the Portuguese boss took power.

He had previously made a number of high-profile mistakes, which led to suggesting that Spurs would be on the market for a new top-grade cap.

Ivan Perisic investigation

Tottenham’s name was once again thrown into the mix surrounding Inter winger Ivan Perisic as an investigation was made, reports FCInterNews.

The Croatian World Cup finalist attracted attention on loan with Bayern Munich, where she scored in last week’s 8-2 against Barcelona in the Champions League.

However, Bayern are not keen on a permanent deal following Leroy Sane’s capture from Manchester City and Inter Milan remain eager to sell.

In addition to Tottenham, newly promoted Leeds United would also have expressed interest in landing Perisic’s services.
