Tottenham Officially Recruit Captain Southampton: Okezone Ball

LONDON – Tottenham Hotspur landed their first new player in the summer transfer market 2020. He is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who was bought from Southampton at a cost of 16.6 million euros (approximately Rp.286 billion).

Tottenham immediately tied Hojbjerg with a long-term contract of five years. The player who can play as a central, defensive and attacking midfielder is likely to earn a place in Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham first team.

Mourinho has certainly examined Hojbjerg’s abilities before signing him from Southampton. The Portuguese passport tactician seems to have prepared a strategy with Hojbjerg as one of his pawns in the match.

Hojbjerg can play in three different positions as a midfielder. However, the Danish player played a more frequent role as a central midfielder at Southampton last season.

The Southampton captain is the player who connects the ball from behind to front. That task Hojbjerg was able to do very well. He helped Southampton to end the Premier League in 11th position.

After four years at Southampton, Hojbjerg made an important decision, namely moving to Tottenham. The Danish player was very happy after completing his move to The Lilywhites – the nickname of Tottenham.

Hojbjerg felt he had made the right decision by joining Tottenham. The 25-year-old player believes he can improve his abilities and become a world-class player by playing at Tottenham.

Hojbjerg is very confident because he thinks Tottenham have the attributes to show off next season. The attributes Hojbjerg mean are that Tottenham have a coach like Mourinho’s class, merit-oriented management, quality players and a clear system to manage everything.
