Move to Tiger Woods. Sit down Patrick Reed. Don’t even bother hitting clubs again, Justin Thomas. As the great Vince Carter once said directly into the camera “It’s OVA”.
What is OVA, you ask? The club-twirl game, forever. Because from here until the end of eternity, no round of clubs could ever top this round of clubs from Liberty University golfer Jonathan Yaun, who this week competes in the United States Amateur at Bandon Dunes:
Violent. Aggressive. Over-the-top. Saucy. Pick an adjective, they all work for Yaun’s vault heard around the world. That thing must have done at least 10 360 in his hands. Simply incredible.
Yaun was understandably thrilled, as he had just taken a 1 lead over Davis Thompson on the 15th hole in round 64. But was he on too? Was there TOO MUCH circling? Quite the contrary, actually. Yaun ended up winning the next two holes, closing Thompson 3 and 1 for 17. Let this be a lesson for all the kids out there: the pirouette gives and the pirouette takes away. In Yaun’s case, he used his whirlwind powers forever.
