A terrible hailstorm has punished this Thursday the most backward runners who climbed to the top of the Col de Porte in the second stage of the Critérium del Dauphiné won by Slovenian cyclist Primoz Roglic. Several cyclists have been forced to set foot on the ground as the ground was covered in ice balls. Others have taken refuge where they can and some have shown up on their team’s bus with marks on their backs from the hail blows, as explained by the digital edition of EL PERIÓDICO, from the same group editorial that Diari de Girona
One of these cyclists has been the French runner Maxime Chevalier. His team, the B&B Hotels-Vital Concept, has distributed through his official account a photograph with the wounds of his runner. But he has not been the only one affected by the hail. Another runner with marks on his back was Tim Declercq, from the Deceunick set.

The storm broke out when the runners vying for the victory, including Mikel Landa, had already crossed the finish line.
