Thiago Silva Upside Down? Paris Saint-Germain is considering an offer to extend their contract by one year despite the ‘agreed’ deal with Chelsea

Thiago Silva’s proposed transfer to Chelsea could be ruined by a dramatic U-turn of Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.

The 35-year-old defender is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Blues who left PSG following a 1-0 defeat in Sunday’s Champions League final.

Silva appears to be on his way to Stamford Bridge this summer, unless there’s a dramatic twist

However, L’Equipe claims that the French club is considering a new agreement for the Brazilian in the eleventh hour.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel reportedly would like his captain to stay while sporting director Leonardo thinks otherwise.

Silva confirmed that the defeat to Bayern Munich in the Lisbon final was his last match for PSG.

“This was my last match at PSG. I’m sad. I apologize to the fans, “he said.

“I want to thank all the fans for their love.

“I want to play for another three or four years and be at the World Cup in Qatar.”

Chelsea made a breakthrough in the negotiations for Havertz

Ally McCoist believes Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell signings will help Chelsea fight for the Premier League title next season

Silva has won eight national titles in France and Italy during a trophy-rich career.

His proposed arrival at Stamford Bridge could see Fikayo Tomori graduate from Chelsea academy in France, with several clubs said to be interested in signing the 22-year-old on loan.

Silva looks set to be joined by more new recruits at Chelsea with Lampard close to securing the £ 50m signing of Leicester and England left-back Ben Chilwell and the capture of £ 90m Kai Havertz, talkSPORT understands.

Chilwell has been a long-term transfer target for Chelsea, while Bayer Leverkusen have accepted a mega offer for Havertz, who will sign a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Former Nice center-back Malang Sarr would also have agreed on a five-year deal with the Blues to join a free transfer.
