THE GREEN LANTERN – THANKS TO HIGUAIN… BUT IS THERE A SUBSTITUTE FOR HEIGHT?

I would say that Pirlo showed up in a great way… As a “rookie” he immediately made it clear that he was ready and that he absolutely did not suffer the weight of the Juventus bench. No misstep in his first press conference as the Old Lady’s coach and, above all, clear words: Dybala remains, Higuain does not. Open heaven … After a year of half-truths (reference wanted to Sarri), here is the Master who displaces everyone and says what needs to be said. Happy that Dybala is at the center of the project (never had any doubts but nice to hear from Pirlo), sorry for Pipita’s forced farewell.
I feel compelled to say THANK YOU to Gonzalo. His professionalism will not be forgotten, as well as the many heavy goals he scored with the Juventus shirt (in total, he scored 66 goals in 149 matches with the Juventus shirt). Perhaps the latest edition of the Pipita was not amazing but, in general, his double adventure in black and white was more than positive. I hope that I don’t have to regret him and that, above all, that he finds a suitable accommodation for his level (please don’t go to MLS). See him again in Serie A? Well, that would be nice, even if I would never want to find myself in front of the Pipita in an important match for the Scudetto race …
But let’s focus on the hot topic of the moment: Higuain’s farewell has been made official, who will take his place at Juventus? There are many names circulating. From Dzeko to Morata, passing through Lacazette, Jimenez, Milik and who knows who else …
On paper, they are all players with indisputable qualities. Dzeko has shown he can score, the same for Milik. Morata has a Juventus past that should not be underestimated while Jimenez and Lacazette would be so “hungry to arrive”. In short, each profile has its own why … However, the question arises: which of them is up to the task to replace the real Higuain? Probably, for how Pirlo intends to structure his Juventus, someone like Dzeko seems to have the best skills to adapt to the game that the Maestro dreams of. The Bosnian also has a great desire to win again (he hasn’t raised a trophy since 2014, when he played at City). Well, there is a problem though. Are we saying goodbye to Higuain who is 32 and are we aiming for Dzeko who has 34 springs on his shoulders? A courageous choice, above all because the investment to snatch Dzeko from Rome will not be of little importance… As if that were not enough, Higuain will weigh on the company’s balance sheet for a loss of 18 million. To be clear: Dzeko is a good technical solution but, economically, it tastes like suicide.
We then return to the starting point. If the Juventus club aims to rejuvenate the squad and contain costs, perhaps they should throw themselves into an “unedited” profile. The hope is that Paratici has an ace up his sleeve to pull off. A few months ago there was a certain Haaland available … Born in 2000, at Borussia Dortmund it cost 20 million. More or less as much as Roma want for Dzeko …
