Valentino Rossi crashed in the first qualifying session of the 2020 Styria MotoGP which made him fail to qualify for Q2. What makes The Doctor fell?

Rossi was only able to occupy the 15th position in the combined results of the free training sessions at the Red Bull Ring Circuit. This achievement made him have to take part in the first qualification of the Styria MotoGP, Saturday (22/8/2020).

While trying to reach the fastest time to qualify for the second qualifying session, Rossi was hit by an unfortunate fate. The 41-year-old racer fell while at Turn 9.

Crash experienced by Rossi made him fail to penetrate the second qualifying session. As a result, the Monster Energy Yamaha team rider could not start the Styria MotoGP race on Sunday (23/8) in the top 10.

Valentino Rossi will start the race in 14th. He moved up one place from where he should have been because Johann Zarco got a penalty and had to start from pit lane.

Regarding the incident he experienced during the qualifying session, Rossi said that this was purely his fault. Not only that, the nine times MotoGP world champion also regretted his negligence at the time free practice which made him fail to qualify for the Q2 session.

“Today, unfortunately, I made two mistakes. The worst negligence occurred this morning,” said Rossi, quoted from Crash.

“On the last lap, I was very fast but I brake too deep at Turn 9 and go wide. If that doesn’t happen, I have lap time to go straight into Q2. I paid a lot for the mistake,” Rossi added.

“After that in Q1 everyone was very fast, especially Zarco who did a pretty good lap time to start in the front row of Q2. Unfortunately I touched the white line on the inside until it finally crashed,” said Valentino Rossi about the accident he experienced during the Styria MotoGP qualifying. .
