Sprint champion Almas wins in Leverkusen

SOne week after his title at the German championships in Braunschweig, print shooting star Deniz Almas (Wolfsburg) was also the fastest at the “TrueAthletes Classics” in Leverkusen over 100 meters. The 23-year-old sprinted to victory in 10.23 seconds ahead of Julian Reus (Erfurt) and Joshua Hartmann (Cologne / both 10.27).

For women, the British Imani Lansiquot equalized the meeting record of Gina Lückenkemper (SCC Berlin) from 2018 in 11.16 seconds over 100 meters. After Lansiquot, Rebekka Haase (Wetzlar / 11.30) and Jennifer Montag (Leverkusen / 11.33) to the finish.

Long jump world champion Malaika Mihambo (LG Kurpfalz) was eliminated in the preliminary run. The previously announced 200-meter European record holder Dafne Schippers (Netherlands) did not start in Leverkusen.
