Juventus interested in McKennie?
Weston McKennie is said to have drawn interest from Turin. As reported by Sport1, Juventus asked Schalke 04 about the midfielder. The Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports on a possible loan deal: According to this, Juve wants to pay three million euros loan fee and agree on a purchase option for 18 million euros. The “kicker” reports of a similar solution, but with a rental fee of six million euros.
Whether this model is enough for Schalke is at least questionable: the club is in financial distress, a sale by McKennie should fill the empty coffers as soon as possible. Hertha BSC had already refrained from a transfer, most recently an interest from Southampton FC was reported.
Ibisevic before a free transfer to Schalke
On the access side, too, something could soon happen in Gelsenkirchen: As the “Bild” reports, Schalke 04 should be facing the commitment of Vedad Ibisevic. The 36-year-old Bosnian’s contract with Hertha BSC had not been extended, and Ibisevic could join Schalke on a free transfer. The center forward scored seven goals in a rotation role for Berlin in the Bundesliga last season – just as many as Schalke’s top scorer Suat Serdar and more than any trained attacker from Gelsenkirchen.
Sponsor Ancelotti wants to bring James Rodríguez to Everton
James Rodríguez faces a move from Real Madrid to the Premier League. As the Spanish sports newspaper “Marca” reports, the Madrilenians are in advanced negotiations with Everton about a transfer of the Colombian. The transfer fee is an amount of 25 to 30 million euros. The 29-year-old Rodríguez, who only played a minor role in Real’s squad last season, would meet coach Carlo Ancelotti at the “Toffees”. The Italian had brought the attacking midfielder to Madrid in 2014 and on loan to FC Bayern Munich in 2017.

Frankfurt lends Joveljic to Austria
Dejan Joveljic did not make a breakthrough in his debut season at Eintracht Frankfurt. Already in the second half of the season Eintracht had awarded the 21-year-old Serbs to Belgium for the RSC Anderlecht. Now it’s time for the Austrian Bundesliga: At Wolfsberger AC, which is also represented in the Europa League, the center forward is supposed to gain match experience for a year.
“In Dejan Joveljic we still see a player who can strengthen Eintracht Frankfurt in the future,” said Eintracht sports director Bruno Huebner. To do this, however, he had to collect playing minutes – and those are currently more likely in Wolfsberg, where Joveljic is a “dream player”, than in Frankfurt. Joveljic’s contract with Eintracht runs until 2024.
Vardy extends at Leicester City
Jamie Vardy will remain in Leicester City until 2023. Vardy, who was the top scorer in the Premier League with 23 goals last season, extended his contract, which was originally valid until 2022, for another year. “Although we’ve achieved so much together, I know I can do a lot more with this team,” said Vardy. The 33-year-old center forward moved from the fifth division from Fleetwood Town to Leicester in 2012 and his goals played a key role in the surprising championship of the Foxes in 2016.
Chilwell joins Chelsea
A team-mate Vardys, on the other hand, dares to move to London: left-back Ben Chilwell is moving to Chelsea. The England international signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
