Report: NBA players decide to continue the season after the wild strike

The NBA playoffs will resume after a strike led by the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The six games that had been scheduled for today after yesterday’s interruption have arrived it would be postponed to a later date.

The postseason resumption comes after NBA teams, including the Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, refused to play on Wednesday. In a statement, the Bucks said they were forced to go on strike to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin. “Despite the huge demand for change, there has been no action, so our focus today cannot be on basketball”, the team said.

The effects of the strike reverberated outside of basketball. The WNBA got into, postponing two games scheduled for Wednesday. Five major league football games and three MLB games were also postponed due to player strikes. And in the world of tennis, Naomi Osaka refused to play in a semifinal match, writing in his statement, “Watching the continuing genocide of blacks at the hands of the police is honestly making me sick to the stomach.”
