According to Tim Graham of TheAthletic.com, the Buffalo Bills benched their own reporter for the rest of training camp for violating team media policy.

Additionally, the three-person marketing team collectively left the organization just two weeks before the scheduled start of the regular season.

Chris Brown, employed with the organization since 2006, served as the team’s radio host and web reporter. With no fans in practice and no preseason games for opponents to screen for this year due to COVID contingencies, NFL teams have done their best to lock down reports on their practices.

After distributing the new media policy on Aug. 16 which prohibited reporting on game strategy, number of shots, and unit involvement, Brown reportedly discussed several of these items on his radio show with the former Bills wide receiver Steve Tasker.

The recordings of these segments have been removed from the WGR team’s radio partner website, although they are cited in TheAthletic.com report. Brown has been out of practice since, has not used his Twitter account for a week, and has also reportedly not been involved in videoconference interviews.

On the marketing side, VP Marketing Shaena Kershner, Marketing Coordinator Alex Compton, and Marketing Director Kelly Baker have all chosen to leave the organization in the past two weeks. Kershner resigned two weeks ago, Compton shortly thereafter and Baker will be leaving at the end of the week.

These departures would be the last changes to the business side of the team since the start of the year.
