Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis was frustrated with his performance in Game 1 against the Portland Trail Blazers and promised to be more aggressive in Game 2.

Davis immediately stayed true to his word, but added 11 points, five rebounds and two assists for the Lakers in the first quarter of Thursday’s 111-88 win. He finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds in just 29 minutes.
With all due respect to LeBron James, it could actually be Davis who ends up playing 1-1 in the Blazers in this first-round NBA playoff series.
“We have to take him into account, no question about it, by keeping him out of the color as much as possible and limiting his offensive setbacks,” said Terry Stotts, Trail Blazers coach. “We have to let the ball bounce better as a group. But of course he did a little of everything. “
Achieving all of this is going to be a huge task as Davis is not only the sportiest tall man on this series, but the most versatile too. He made 3 out of 4 three-point shots in game 3. He has quick movements. A middle class game. He’s wild when he’s looking for rebounds or attacking the rim.
Zach Collins would have been the best option, but he’s done for the season with an ankle injury. Portland has to get creative or Davis will continue to be a problem.
“The best we can do is get him to work and make his chances more difficult,” said Stotts.
