Bayern and PSG are the two best offenses in the world in terms of expected goals. Bayern averaged 2.73 xG per match in the Bundesliga, while PSG averaged 2.94 xG per match in Ligue 1 last season.
Bayern’s journey to the Champions League final was filled with destruction and humiliation. They won Group B without losing a point and beat their opponents 24-5. At the risk of overstating the potential of this Sunday bout, the Champions League final has the potential to be one of the most exciting finals of recent years.
Bayern Munich is a German giant that hasn’t won the CL since 2013, but dominated everyone during the competition and everyone in Germany last season. They have scored 42 goals and won all 10 Champions League games this season, eliminating Tottenham, Chelsea, Barcelona and Lyon.
Paris St.-Germain have never won the CL, but it features the two best players in the world not named Lionel Messi in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
While all the focus on both teams will be on star strikers, both teams have shown significant cracks in their last few matches that the other team is actually perfectly positioned to take advantage of.
