It has already been reported on Friday that “Dinamo” intends to sign an agreement with Scarlett, but on Sunday the Riga club has also officially announced it.

The National Hockey League (NHL) club’s Dallas Stars system guard was drafted in 2011 by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round with a total of 159, but the 27-year-old Canadian hockey player has not played a game in the NHL.

Last season in the American Hockey League (AHL), Scarlett scored 16 points (five goals and 11 assists) in 51 matches for Texas Dallas Farm Club Stars. The AHL defender played 325 matches, scoring 118 (24 + 94) points and 256 penalty minutes.

In 32 AHL “play-off” matches, the defender with the right stick grip stood out with three assists and six penalty minutes.

It has already been reported that on Sunday, the Riga team signed a probationary agreement with 25-year-old defender Jānis Jaku.

The protection of the club in the upcoming season will be strengthened by Rice Scarlet, his compatriots Matthew Mayonnaise and Morgan Ellis, Czech Ondrejs Vitāseks, as well as local hockey players Kristaps Sotnieks, Kristaps Zīle and Roberts Mamčics. Jakas, Paul Patrik Visockis, Eduards Hugo Jansons and Ernest Ošenieks also have probationary contracts.

A specialist Pēteris Skudra was appointed the head coach of “Dinamo” a month ago, but he will be assisted by the head coach of the Russian Youth Hockey League (MHL) team “Rīga” last season Raimonds Vilkoits and his assistant Aleksandrs Nizhivijs.

Last season, “Dinamo” took the penultimate place in the Western Conference and in the entire league, not qualifying for the Gagarin Cup for the sixth year in a row.

KHL’s new season is scheduled to start on September 2. “Dinamo” will play the first game of the new season on September 3 with a game against Nursultan “Baris”, entering a series of four home matches.
