Mitchell Trubisky had solid practice, won on Day 3 of the Battle of Bears QB

Before training camp began, Bears head coach Matt Nagy promised he was going to be open and honest with Trubisky and Foles. Where he wouldn’t be afraid to tell them when they were playing like shit or making critical mistakes.

“What did I tell you a few weeks ago?” We’re going to tell them when they played bad and we’re going to tell them when they are playing well, ”Nagy told reporters Thursday. “Whether it’s the precision of a pitch or whether it’s a decision.”

On day three of padded workouts, Nagy kept his promise when Trubisky made a critical error in the red zone. At first on the 1-yard line, Trubisky went over the line and grabbed the sack rather than throwing the ball, something he’s known to do throughout his career. And Nagy called him.

“These are critical errors that we cannot have. He won’t do it again. He’s going to fix it and move on, ”Nagy said. “It’s a situational game that we need to be 2nd and goal on 1 and not 2 and goal on 3. He will fix that and move on and he will do better tomorrow.

It was the third practice the media were allowed to witness, and all eyes were still on the quarterback battle. Here’s how the quarterfinals fared on day three of padded workouts, through the eyes of NBC Sports Chicago’s Adam Hoge.
