Mikel Arteta “canceled” by the Arsenal board of directors after a disagreement with the club leaders

Mikel Arteta would have been “rejected” by the Arsenal council after disagreeing with them over midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The 22-year-old has been put up for sale and told he can leave Arsenal despite starting the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Maitland-Niles has been with the club since the age of six and was not pushing for a transfer, with his current contract expected to run until 2023.

The top scorer has called the transfer list though as they try to raise money for their business in the market this summer.

However, as per the report of The telegraph , this was against the wishes of Chief Arteta, who pleaded for advice to keep the hold of the versatile star.

Arsenal board wants to sell Maitland-Niles to raise funds

Maitland-Niles is expected to be one of many first team players to be dumped in the coming weeks as Arteta plans a squad overhaul.

Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Sokratis are among the names deemed in excess of the requirements, but Maitland-Niles still had a role to play in Arteta’s plans in the future.

He has been in and out of the squad since the appointment of his manager, but made a big impact in the remaining games of the season.

Only last weekend he was awarded a starting spot for the cup final and did well when Arsenal finished the season on a high note.

That performance followed his role in the semi-final win over City, which convinced Arteta that he still had something to give the club.

Arteta tried to reason with the scoreboard after that victory, but without success.

Maitland-Niles’ ability to play in different positions makes him a valuable team player, but Arsenal believe they can raise at least £ 20 million from his sale.

Everton and Brighton are both interested in signing him and Arteta admits he has to make allowances somewhere if he wants new arrivals.

Willian will arrive from Chelsea on a three-year deal worth over £ 10m, while the Gunners are also planning a move for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and are planning to tie captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a new mega-money deal. .

To offset their costs, the club is also willing to listen to offers from the likes of Sead Kolasinac, Rob Holding, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shkodran Mustafi.
