Man Utd holds last minute talks Gabriel Magalhaes despite him ‘undergoing Arsenal medical treatment’

Manchester United reportedly held last-minute talks with Gabriel Magalhaes, despite claims that he is set to undergo an Arsenal medical examination.

Shocking reports in both England and Italy claim that the Red Devils have made a move to rip the Brazilian from under Arsenal’s noses.

However, other sources close to United claim that such a move did not take place.

According to Sky Sports, Man United have yet to make a concrete offer for Gabriel, but are monitoring the 22-year-old’s situation.

Others say Lille defender Gabriel is delaying signing for Arsenal as he expects United to make a last-ditch offer for him.

As things stand, Arsenal remain the favorite to get the £ 22.6m center-back.

Napoli are also in the mix and have reportedly made a late and improved offer to entice the defender to Italy, but Gabriel is expected to sign for a Premier League club.

According to The Telegraph, Gabriel is expected to undergo a medical examination in North London before signing a five-year contract with the Gunners.

The restrictions on the coronavirus mean that his medical examinations may need to be completed in France before he flies to the UK, unless he can find a way around the 14-day quarantine rule.

Gabriel’s teammate Jose Fonte recently confirmed that the defender has asked to play in the Premier League.

“The club [Lille] they allowed him to talk to other clubs. He’s in the process of moving, “Fonte told talkSPORT.
