Latest rumors about Tottenham transfer: rakitic move, Aurier’s breakthrough, Wilson to fend off Spurs

Tottenham’s Premier League season begins in just three weeks and Jose Mourinho’s side are still on the market for some new signings, it seems.

Spurs finished sixth last season after facing two coaches, and Mourinho will be looking to ensure there is no second transition campaign in North London.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart have already been brought into the club this summer, and it doesn’t look like the former Chelsea boss has finished there.

Here are the latest transfer rumors related to Tottenham today.

The spurs follow the rakitic signature

Tottenham are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic this summer, according to the Daily Mail, via TEAMtalk.

The report says Spurs president Daniel Levy believes the Croatian international is the ideal replacement for Christian Eriksen, who joined Inter in January.

The 32-year-old started just 16 league games with Barcelona last season and is expected to leave the Catalan giants this summer.

Spurs are reportedly one of three Premier League clubs keeping an eye on Rakitic, with Arsenal and Manchester United.

AC Milan “intensifies talks” on the Aurier affair

Italian giants AC Milan have stepped up talks with Tottenham about their right-back Serge Aurier, according to Football Italia.

Sky Sports also reports that Bayer Leverkusen have expressed their interest in the Ivorian national team.

However, this appears to have triggered AC Milan, who have now intensified interest in Aurier and are hoping to take the deal to the next stage.

Spurs signed Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for around £ 23m, and he still has two years left on his current contract.

Phillips urges Wilson to reject the Spurs move

Former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips has urged Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson to turn down Tottenham after reporting interest in the striker.

Phillips believes Wilson should be looking to move somewhere where he will be the number one choice every week.

“The most important thing for me, if I’m Callum Wilson, is to be number one somewhere and play week after week,” Phillips told Football Insider.

“If you go to Tottenham, you are just a reserve forward and if Harry Kane stays fit for the season, you will have almost no playing time, maybe a couple of cup games. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but I’d like to see him go somewhere where he’ll be the number one striker and play. “
