LaLiga endorses Bara and says that Messi will have to pay the clause if he wants to leave

LaLiga has helped FC Barcelona in their duel with Leo Messi. This morning the employer chaired by Javier Tebas has issued a statement seeking to clarify the confusing situation regarding the contract of the Argentine star. La Liga claims that Messi is still subject to the 700 million clause and that if he wants to leave Barça he will have to pay that amount.

This is the thesis that Josep Maria Bartomeu has always defended since the Barça captain’s representatives sent a bureaufax in which he announced that he was in the starting line-up and terminated his link with Barça unilaterally and free of charge. Crucial support, as LaLiga must process the visa prior to a federation leave.

The Barça club has reiterated that this release clause ended on 10 June. Now LaLiga is right after analyzing the contract. “The contract is currently in force and has a termination clause applicable in the event that Lionel Andrés Messi decides to urge its early unilateral termination.” And the note adds in a second point: “The League will not carry out the procedure of previous visa of the federal low to the player if it has not previously paid the amount of this clause”.
