Kite coach Paul McGregor sacked

It is believed that the Directors of Dragons got fed up with the direction of the team this year and McGregor failed to develop the cream of the club’s young players.

At the same time, the more experienced, high-paying players failed without fear of consequences.

The target of much criticism of former players, fifth and eighth Corey Norman, was dropped for the match against the Roosters but restored after just one match.

McGregor was due to head the Dragons Board for a regular monthly meeting next Tuesday, but the directors decided to move on with their inevitable decision.

His departure will be sugar-coated as a “resignation,” but he was left with no choice but to fall on his sword after the board lost confidence in his leadership.
