With all the questions about the presence of fans in the stadiums, is there any chance that all the fans greatly overestimate their impact on the outcome of the matches? Also, do you think there must be a sarcasm font?
This NFL season might give us a better idea of the fan impact. It will be interesting to compare the winning percentages of local teams this year (albeit a small sample) and previous years. A sarcasm font? So what do I use if I want to laugh at your sarcasm?
Not sure if this has been requested before, but who was selected where that would have been the Packers’ fourth-round pick if they hadn’t traded him?
The pick went from the Packers to the Dolphins to the Texans to the Rams, who selected Purdue TE Brycen Hopkins at No.136 overall.
How do the coaching staff prepare for a game knowing that some key players might be ineligible at the last minute because they tested positive? I understand the concept of the next man. Does knowing that this could happen at any time change the way practices are conducted or who receives additional repetitions?
I do not think so. I suspect that coaches will not want to remove training reps from suspected beginners in order to prepare for possible emergency substitutes. There is only a limited number of training repetitions in any given week. I think they’ll just react as they go and deal with a last-minute positive test no different from a player who wakes up in the hotel on the morning of the game unable to get out of bed due to food poisoning or something similar.

What does it mean for a catcher to be a good road runner? Is it the timing, the precision of the angles and the cuts, so that the receiver is where it’s supposed to be when it’s supposed to be there? Is he making the right adjustments to the defense? Is it about bypassing the defenders? It all seems important, but what is on the “itinerary”?
All of the above plus a level of deception that makes as many routes as possible look the same until the first major cut.
Some recent wide receiver has been criticized for its “inability to execute correct routes”. I maintain that due to the “optional routes” (QB and receiver seeing the same defense and adjusting the same), it’s not always as easy as “going down 15 yards and cutting the line. touch”. How often are “option routes” used by GB?
All. The. Time. By each team, with each attack.
Am I guessing the new intern was not happy to have been called and decided not to post the August 11 insider inbox? Do it right! I’m dying without my solution II!
This one was not on the intern. It was a league side issue with the app, and it took most of the day to get it sorted out. Sorry, but it was out of our control. The column was still published on the regular site.
Can you ask Jaire Alexander where I can get a pair of these sunglasses !?
It was different, eh? I like Jaire’s personality. He might not answer questions the way everyone expects, but he’s honest and upfront enough to provide actionable material for the stories.
