World number 30 Milos Raonic has joined the Professional Tennis Players Association, which represents the interests of tennis players. Raonic has been critical in how ATP has handled the coronavirus situation for the past six months.
Yesterday Milos lost to Novak Djokovic in the final of the Western and Southern Open 2020. Despite winning the first set, Raonic let the match slip and conceded to Djokovic in the deciding set, who won a record 35th Masters 1000 title .
Recently, in a interview, the Canadian was asked if WTA players should join the players association. The reporter added whether Raonic found it surprising that the players weren’t invited despite Vasek Pospisil being the host of Tennis United.

“I don’t know what the reason is. But I think, you know, just like I also think about what was the last thing. Tennis is inclusive for everyone, says Milos Raonic
During interview, the reporter asked Raonic if players from both tours should be part of the players association. Raonic responded with a big yes and spoke of tennis as an inclusive sport.
“Yes, I think they should. At the end of the day, tennis is a sport. It is inclusive for everyone. If you can hit a ball and manage to do it correctly at a fairly high level, everyone has a chance in this sport. ” Raonic noted.
Raonic believes the men’s union will need the support of women and vice versa. The runner-up at the Cincinnati Masters 2020 added that he will support the association because it represents the just cause. But he is not inclined to take care of the daily functions of the association.
As the 2020 US Open starts tomorrow, Milos Raonic will face Leonardo Mayer in the opening round. The Canadian is seeded number 25 and could face Roberto Bautista Agut in the third round at Flushing Meadows.
