Henrik Larsson, Koeman’s assistant at Barça

Former Barça striker Henrik Larsson will be part of the technical team of the new Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, as announced this Friday by the Catalan club.

Larsson will sign a contract until June 30, 2022, as will Alfred Schreuder from the Netherlands, a technical expert in strategy plays, who has worked at Hoffenheim and Ajax.

Koeman and Larsson met during their time as footballers when they both played for Feyenoord between 1995 and 1997. Now, 23 years later, they will meet again at the Camp Nou.

The Swede arrived at Barça in 2004 from Celtic Glasgow and, during the two seasons that he wore the Barça shirt, he gave a great performance, scoring 22 goals in 62 games.

With the Catalan team he won a Champions League, two Leagues and a Spanish Super Cup. He is now returning to Barcelona as a manager, a role he has already played in his native Sweden for teams like Falkenberg and Helsingborg.
