F1 FANTASY: No Mercedes drivers in the Spanish GP team of the week extended as mega drivers

Neither Lewis Hamilton nor Valtteri Bottas made the team of the week for the Spanish Grand Prix, but Max Verstappen played the lead. We’re revealing the best team from last week’s race and we’re sketching a small change to F1 Fantasy for the upcoming Belgian, Italian and Tuscany Grand Prix.

Wildcard and mega driver extension

The use of Mega Drivers and Wildcard Powerups was extended to round 9 of the season rather than round 8. That means you can use your mega-driver up to and including the Grand Prix in Mugello instead of Monza as previously planned.

Definitely worth using the Mega Driver powerup as it triples your chosen driver’s score. A second Mega Driver and a wildcard that allows you to make so many changes to your team without penalty are available from Mugello until the end of the season.

If you haven’t used your Mega Driver Boost before, use it on a driver who is likely to win a race and about to hit five consecutive top 10 qualifying or racing finals.

Lance Stroll scored 34 points and was selected by 34% of the people to race last week. Its price has increased by $ 2.6 million this season.

Best team at the Spanish Grand Prix

The team of the week from the Spanish Grand Prix consisted neither of a Mercedes driver nor of the runner-up Max Verstappen – with a mega-driver power-up.

Verstappen actually scored more points in Spain than the eventual winner Lewis Hamilton. This is due to the stripes that we explained in last week’s tip article.

After five consecutive top 10 races, Verstappen finished his record by 10 points. This consisted of a second place, a qualification for third place, a win over his teammate, a position and the third quarter. That was a total of 141 points.

F1 fantasy player S. Khatri scored 343 points with Team of the Week, including Verstappen as a mega driver (x3) and Stroll as a turbo driver (x2).

The top team also included Lance Stroll, who was named Turbo Driver (x2 points) to bring his total to 74. Again, Stroll finished P4 and secured a top 10 streak, beating teammate Sergio Perez and scoring 37 points total in the third quarter before the Turbo Driver Powerup doubled its record.

Perez’s solid 21-point stretch was included as well as the 23 points from McLaren’s Carlos Sainz and 14 from AlphaTauris Pierre Gasly.

However, the constructors with the highest number of points were Mercedes, who let Hamilton win from pole position, Valtteri Bottas finished third and scored five extra points from a fifth consecutive top 10 qualification.
