The person who appeared to be a security guard told Marshall, ‘I’m just trying to do my job. ”

“There was no threat of you calling the cops,” Marshall replied. “This is what we see every day. This is what we see every day. I have two children in the car at the moment.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office told the Miami New Times that deputies were called on Aug. 17, but the incident did not warrant a police report.

“ The incident was resolved on the spot between the two parties, ” a spokesperson told the Miami New Times in an email.

Marshall then responded to the incident on Instagram, saying he was upset because it happened in front of his children.

‘It is true!!!’ he wrote in a caption. “ I was so disappointed in myself to be so emotional with my kids in the car BUT then I realized that being numb is no longer an option ”

Marshall did not accuse security or law enforcement of having been physically with him.

However, on Instagram, he begged his followers to help him take action by voting in November.

“ I have observed and dealt with the same injustice and the same turmoil that you have over the past few months, ” Marshall said. “We have been through this pain all of our lives. The awareness and the conversations started by the protests are great, but it can’t end there. I’m tired of talking that leads nowhere. I call on powerful networks to take their chances and deliver our country’s most important message right now.

“The way to real change is through the ballot box. Power belongs to the people. I’m not telling you to vote or who to vote for. I remind you that you CAN vote. It is your RIGHT to have your voice heard.
