Two Jets players at opposite ends of their careers struggle with hamstring injuries in training camp.

Jets head coach Adam Gase said wide receiver Denzel Mims and running back Frank Gore both missed practice due to hamstring issues. Mims was a second-round pick in April and Gore is entering his 16th professional season.

Gase said Gore had been sidelined for precautionary reasons. He said Mims had taken “a really strange step” and that it is not known how long he will be sidelined. He also said the sooner the better for the rookie’s return.

“In this place, everything is about chemistry you have with the QB. . . and we’re running out of time, ”Gase said, via SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano.

Cornerback Pierre Desir is also struggling with a hamstring injury as the team ramp up their training work.
