Considering Bryn Forbes’ future with Spurs

There are a lot of questions looming in the Spurs offseason. No one seems greater than the fact that DeMar DeRozan will entertain the free agency or stay with the Spurs.

If the senior Spurs guard keeps his leadership role in San Antonio, there will be changes.

One of the many changes could be to see Bryn Forbes in a jersey belonging to another franchise.

The uncrawled Michigan Spartan joined the Spurs in 2016 and played a minor role when he came off the bench. Since then, Forbes has seen its role increase.

Each summer, Bryn spent more time in the gym building volume and hone her short shots.

With Dejounte Murray’s ACL injury two years ago, Forbes found himself in the starting lineup for 81 of the 82 regular season games. He has achieved career highs in almost all categories, including minutes played, points per game, shooting percentages.

If the bubble were any indication of the future, Spurs will enter the heavy guard of the 2020-2021 season. Derrick White’s dominance in Orlando should earn him a starting spot alongside Dejounte Murray. Lonnie Walker IV, Keldon Johnson, and Quinndary Weatherspoon are all doing their own cases. Patty Mills, the longest-running Spurs player, will be back for the final year of her contract.

Forbes has consistently suffered comparison with Mills and has been labeled redundant. Unfortunately, he may not get to the skill sets as much as his contract had expired.

With an aging LaMarcus Aldridge and Jakob Poeltl also facing the possibility of dipping his big toe in the water of free will, the Spurs may have to lose a guard to carry a great man or true power forward.

Do you think Spurs will bring Bryn Forbes back for her fifth season? Do you think they should?
