Blues boss Frank Lampard is watching a surprise shot for the 37-year-old as he seeks a solution to his goalkeeper problems.

Chelsea are struggling to find a new number 1 without paying a fortune and Foster is in dispute at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard wants Kepa Arrizabalaga to leave and Chelsea would loan him back to Spain if the deal were right.

Hiring Foster to fight with fellow “old” Willy Caballero, 38, might be the answer, but other clubs are also excited about the Watford man.

Lampard also considered taking on his old friend Joe Hart, who played with him at Manchester City.

It could fit as a second or even third choice if interested. Hart is looking for first-team stock and is hoping for offers at home and abroad.

But a helping season at Stamford Bridge wouldn’t be a bad prospect.

Foster is also a finalist at Everton by Carlo Ancelotti who wants some competition for Jordan Pickford.

Manchester United’s Sergio Romero also fits the bill as they are eager for an experienced head to keep Pickford on his toes.

But Foster in demand is the highest man on their list.
