Arsenal will finish above Tottenham as predicted by the 2020/21 Premier League standings

The 2019/20 Premier League season ended with mixed emotions for London’s top clubs.

Arsenal finished eighth in the Premier League but won the FA Cup final against Chelsea, although the Blues enjoyed a much better league season and finished fourth.

Tottenham, meanwhile, were nowhere near their title aspirations and lost the top four for the first time in four seasons, finishing in sixth place.

But this month now offers those teams a chance to earn some respite and upgrade their teams during the summer window.

The big question now ahead of the 2020/21 championship restart is what will the final table be like?

The Sporting Index have provided their point of view on what will happen next season thanks to the points prediction – and it’s good news for Chelsea.

The Blues are supported to make it into the Premier League top four, although such a result may fall short of the club’s expectations following the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

But Frank Lampard’s men should at least finish for both Arsenal and Tottenham in anticipation, with the Gunners backed to overtake Tottenham and finish fifth.

Man City are down as title winners, Liverpool in second and Manchester United in third.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace is expected to finish in 16th place and Fulham will be relegated as basement dwellers.
