Arsenal transfer news: Gunners will be offered two Atletico stars in Lacazette exchange | Football | Sport

Atletico Madrid would be ready to offer Arsenal Thomas Lemar and Vitolo in exchange for Alexandre Lacazette. The French striker is attracting interest from a number of top European clubs as he enters the final two years of his contract.

Lacazette found himself in disgrace after the block while Mikel Arteta took the chance on young striker Eddie Nketiah.

The 29-year-old worked his way up and fought to rejoin the squad for the final stretch of the season when Arsenal won the FA Cup against Chelsea.

Lacaztte has formed a formidable partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since his teammate moved to Emirates Stadium.

The double act has now teamed up with Nicolas Pepe to create one of the Premier League’s most dangerous front lines.

The report says Lemar and Vitolo could head north to London as part of a swap deal for the former Lyon frontman.

Lemar has struggled since joining Wanda Metropolitano from Lyon in 2018 and is looking for a fresh start to get his career back on track.

It was the subject of a successful offer from the Gunners in the summer of 2017 when Arsenal went in search of a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

For this reason, he could be a player of interest to the Arsenal hierarchy.

Arsenal have already offered Atletico Madrid’s Matteo Guendouzi as part of a player offering more money for Thomas Partey.

Both offers have been rejected and now Arteta has confirmed that Guendouzi is ready for a second chance after being banned from the first formed team.

“I have been very clear that everyone starts from scratch all the time in football,” said Arteta.

“What you did two weeks ago or two years ago doesn’t really matter.

“That’s what you are able to contribute to the team now. Everyone will have the same opportunities.

“They will have to demonstrate with their performances and their attitude that they are better than their team mates or that they contribute in some way to what we want to achieve this season.”
