Andrew Johns’ solution to clearing the mess in the Brisbane Broncos

Andrew Johns says Brisbane will have to hire Kevin Walters as their new coach if Anthony Seibold doesn’t make it through 2021.

The Broncos have only won three games this season and are penultimate on the ladder. They were also rocked by a number of off-field scandals while Seibold’s personal life was the target of malicious rumors spread on social media.

The 45-year-old has repeatedly stated in the second year of a five-year contract that he will not quit and the board has supported him to stay in charge until at least the end of the season, if the club will do a review, how everything went so wrong this year.

However, the Broncos may have no choice but to defeat Seibold after the worst campaign in the club’s history.

In this case, Newcastle legend Johns believes former Bronco and current Queensland coach Kevin Walters should take over the reins.

“He has to get the Broncos job when Anthony Seibold is gone,” Johns said on Wide World of Sports. Freddy and the Eighth.

“You need a real connection between the Footy Club and the city of Brisbane. You see a lot of the old boys, there’s a lot of confusion in the current club and players so I think Kevvy Walters could bring it all back.

“Get the right assistant coaches around him, get the front office right, and bring Kevvy back. Hashtag Bring Kevvy back. “

Walters has previously made it clear that he would like to coach his former team, but when Wayne Bennett was eliminated, he received controversial abuse for the post.

Instead, the Broncos chose Seibold to take command after just one season as coach at the NRL in 2019, where he led Souths to the grand finale in one game.

The sacked Cowboys trainer Paul Green is another name that has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Seibold in case one is needed.

NSW coach Brad Fittler believes that if Walters wanted the job at Red Hill, he would have to give up his duties with the Maroons because it’s too difficult to coach an Origin team while one has a job in clubland.

“You couldn’t do that (train both sides). They could, but most likely they would be neglected, ”Fittler continued Freddy and the Eighth.

“There are a lot of guys who raised their hands for the Origin job too, so we’ll see what happens.”
